Praying church

Prayer is an important part of what we do at New Life. As it says in Philippians 4:6-7

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Prayer Meeting

Each Thursday evening at 7.15pm, for just about an hour, we gather on Zoom to worship our loving Father, Almighty God in prayer. We bring before him the needs of our friends and neighbours, the current issues in our church family, and the events going on in the world around us.

Prayer Net

Some needs are urgent, and Prayer Net aims to support people and situations that need lots of prayer, right now!

Prayer requests are sent out by text to our extensive team of praying people, and we have seen many wonderful answers to prayer over the years.

Contact Jeannette (details on the weekly newsletter) if you have an issue that needs urgent prayer, and also if you would like to join the team of praying people.

Help I need prayer!

We all need prayer. We don't all have someone we know who we can ask to pray for us.

At New Life Church, our prayer team would be honoured to support you through life's challenges.

Email us at prayer@newlifecentre.co.uk with as much or as little detail as you feel comfortable sharing. We will send out your prayer request to our team, and only use your email address to contact you if you would like us to - so please indicate this.

Testimony - Ken

Ken was in his 90's when he was hospitalised with Covid. The doctor said they could do no more for him, and took him off the ventilator and oxygen. They told his family he had 48 hours to live. His niece, Audrey asked the Prayer Net to pray for him.

Remarkably, Ken began to fight back, and continued to improve over the next 4 months. He was sent for rehabilitation, then back home. Here he is pictured at a family wedding some months later, still bright as a button!

Praise God for answering our prayers so remarkably.

29 August 2022

Testimony - Sophia

We'd been praying for 17 month old Sophia since her Nanna Lisa had shared with us about her diagnosis (on 3rd August) of leukaemia, with slim hopes of recovery.

After just 2 weeks of chemo, Sophia had severe reactions, and the chemo had to be stopped. Sophia was extremely poorly, and not responding to the treatment for her pneumonia, sepsis, a blood infection, ulcerated mouth and countless other complications she'd developed. Sophia spent the next 2 1/2 weeks in ICU. Her heart stopped and she had to be rescuscitated twice.

11 Sept 2022

The prayer intensified as we battled for this precious little life.

On 6th September, Lisa visited the life groups in person to deliver the news. The hospital had done more tests and 'inexplicably' the leukaemia had virtually disappeared! The doctor had told her, "Your grand-daughter is very unusual, we don't know what happened!"

There were still tiny traces of leukaemia, so Sophia will have 2 years of low level chemo. But she was now sitting up eating, smiling and laughing and well on the road to recovery.

What can we say but thank you God???
